Crawl Space Encapsulation
Encapsulation is the best method of sealing and insulating a crawlspace. Encapsulation is a very specific process with material installation that takes specialized training and building science expertise.
Every major study by top building scientists and engineers since the 1980s has concluded unanimously that unvented, encapsulated, and mechanically controlled crawlspaces are best.
The process consists of closing all vents, removing insulation from the floor, moving the thermal barrier to the foundation walls, and air sealing with pre-and post testing.
We’ll install a very specific thick white vapor barrier with an extremely tight permeance (perm) rating on the ground and all the way up the foundation walls.
We’ll tape, caulk, and seal all the seams in the entire barrier system, before installing a dehumidifier and a very small exhaust fan out one of the vents to exhaust soil gases.
This process creates a very clean and fresh white crawlspace with no bugs, musty smells, moisture, etc.
BPP installs encapsulations every week and would love to help you with your design and application.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I am so grateful to these people for making our home livable again. They removed our old insulation along with the rats and all the mess they made. They were professional and got the jobs done on time. With a clean crawl space under the house, the leaks sealed, and rodent mitigation in place, it is like having a new home. Thank you!”
